Goodbye Singapore,
& Hello Malacca!
went on a 2-day short trip to Malacca with my family & mummy's paidu exercise friends last weekend. wasn't too keen on the trip cause I'll be going with a bunch of strangers on the final 2 days of ZS's block leave! :( But I didn't have much of a choice but to tag along and luckily luckily it wasn't that bad!
So we set off at 4+ AM on Saturday morning & met up with my mummy's friends and their families and that makes the attendance a scary figure of 21 people! An invincible combination of nan nv lao shao.
& finally we arrived @ the first destination - Mini M'sia and ASEAN village
There're 13 houses inside the village and each house represents a state in M'sia. Anyway we are supposed to pay for the entrance fees so the aunties suggested looking around at the entrance only since there's nothing much in there but they ventured deeper and deeper and more followed suit and we considered ourselves official visitors eventually haha.
introducing you to the....houses! =) I officially declare that I can't remember a single name at all.
Then we headed down to a small eatery that was featured on TV, selling Nonya dishes. Everyone went in with anticipation but left with utter disappointment. Not nice at all!!
I ordered Nonya laksa. Didn't even bother to take picture at all! 50 thumbs down.
Then we headed along the streets towards the Malacca's must-go Red Buildings. But precisely cause it's a must-go, it's super boring now cause we go there everytime we go Malacca.
@ the museum
Then went to a shopping mall where I had my ever first....foot reflexology!
Hesitated for VERY long because I can't stand itch and I seriously can kick the masseur back to Thailand if she touches my sole! But I was psychoed by the aunties and my curiosity got better of me so there I was, in the hands of the masseur.
After a trip to the heaven, we went to some random area where there're wartime display.
& that's it for the town area. Headed towards my mummy's friend's village and that's when the fun started! It was a very very very long and bumpy car ride into the rural area and it was very deep inside the village. and finally we arrived!
but... take that!
Then we went for dinner and had a durian session @ night! The durian crave crept into my secretly and this session came just at the right time heheh and the worker taught us the way to get rid of the durian smell on our hands
& that is using water that runs off the durian shell. DON'T KNOW WHY EITHER! It's said to be yi du gong du (using poison to treat the poison) and I was totally amazed! Only to find myself feeling so cheated because the smell came back 10 minutes later! =( But it's still amazing and even google doesn't provide a scientific answer to this. If you want to get rid of the durian smell in your mouth, it's not just enough to drink salt water. The water must run off the durian shell too! Not sure how accurate that is so just fyi!
went back to the kampong @ midnight, bathed, chatted and that's the end of day one.
Woke up early in the morning and went for some bakuteh that's known to be famous.
Food that attracts houseflies taste the best, seriously! hahaha. We were busy fanning away those flies to prevent them from kissing our food.
Then went back to the kampong and 'harvested' rambutans and coconuts, fresh from the trees!
After a fruity session, everyone got changed and prepared themselves for the trip to the waterfall!
& arrived!
The lower course of the waterfall is very dirty and crowded so we went up up up and up to the upper course of the falls and I swear it's not easy at all! The steps were rocky, pointy, jagged and steep. and that's alot of steps and kids to take care of.
& finally, we land our feet on the sandy ground and chilly water!
Walked the same terrorising steps down, dried ourselves and went back to the kampong. The rest of the day was spent bathing, packing, eating and back we are in singapore, and thanks to the crazy jam, I only reached home @ 12+ AM!
So overall it was not bad...cause my mummy's friends and their families are entertaining and there's lots of outdoor rural activities to explore. I would seriously die there if I'm thrown there alone to leave, I'll probably suffocate from cobwebs in my lungs but such an experience once in a while does feels fresh!
And then today is ZS's first day after his block leave. His new vocation was made known to him on Friday, 10am so the usual kiasu me keyed in all the necessary particulars and standby by the "submit" button and pressed my mouse the moment th clock strikes 10. But urg, the whole Singapore is as kiasu as me and I experienced a severe lag!
Anyway, he's posted to Sispec and the camp is located at Pasir laba and it's waaaaay over at boon lay! It's just a word different from Pasir ris and it's all the way to the other end of the green line. and he just told me he was posted to Foxtrot Company and I did a quick research and i was greeted by an unfriendly line that says "Foxtrot is the legendary hiong company". But more research then revealed more hiong companies la. Every company will insist that their company is hiong, but 'legendary' sound really intimidating. He had his 4km run on his first day, 4km run every morning, soc tomorrow, IPPT on wed and remedial on Sat if he fails. urg.
Anyway I came across some funny abbreviations as I went through the forums like
Sispec- Suffer In Silence Plus Extra Confinement
OCS- Only Clowns Stay
OETI - Only eat talk idle/ Officially Entitled to Idle
No offence! Just find it cute. Updating previous entries soon, bye!
