Goodbye Singapore,

& Hello Malacca!

went on a 2-day short trip to Malacca with my family & mummy's paidu exercise friends last weekend. wasn't too keen on the trip cause I'll be going with a bunch of strangers on the final 2 days of ZS's block leave! :( But I didn't have much of a choice but to tag along and luckily luckily it wasn't that bad!

So we set off at 4+ AM on Saturday morning & met up with my mummy's friends and their families and that makes the attendance a scary figure of 21 people! An invincible combination of nan nv lao shao.

& finally we arrived @ the first destination - Mini M'sia and ASEAN village

There're 13 houses inside the village and each house represents a state in M'sia. Anyway we are supposed to pay for the entrance fees so the aunties suggested looking around at the entrance only since there's nothing much in there but they ventured deeper and deeper and more followed suit and we considered ourselves official visitors eventually haha.

introducing you to the....houses! =) I officially declare that I can't remember a single name at all.

The signboard says pulau pinang (: and my face says I need more sleep!

The unique decoration

This is how easy it is to sneak in. Look @ the attendance! + sis the cameraman.

Then we headed down to a small eatery that was featured on TV, selling Nonya dishes. Everyone went in with anticipation but left with utter disappointment. Not nice at all!!

I ordered Nonya laksa. Didn't even bother to take picture at all! 50 thumbs down.

my mummy's nasi something. So-so only.

But the chendol is yummy!

My mummy & her paidu friends

Then we headed along the streets towards the Malacca's must-go Red Buildings. But precisely cause it's a must-go, it's super boring now cause we go there everytime we go Malacca.

on the way there. Wanted to take the boat ride but some are not interested.. so plan aborted.

Our invincible nan nv lao shao combination

The guys figuring the way to the Red buildings

and here we are!

@ the museum

This engine was used way in the past in Singapore during the war times but was transferred back to Malacca by the Japanese. And I forgot what happened to it thereafter :X

Then went to a shopping mall where I had my ever first....foot reflexology!
Hesitated for VERY long because I can't stand itch and I seriously can kick the masseur back to Thailand if she touches my sole! But I was psychoed by the aunties and my curiosity got better of me so there I was, in the hands of the masseur.

My mummy was expecting a scream and my sister was ready to capture any laughable scenes. But I survived through the session without providing them with the scenes they wish to capture hoho.

Feeling tensed as she made her first attack on my soles. And I was in lalaland after that. Relaxing! and now i am addicted to it hahahaha but it's so hard to get a good and cheap massage in SG! Any recommendations? (:

After a trip to the heaven, we went to some random area where there're wartime display.

At the don't-know-what area. seriously can't believe I am conscious as I am typing this entry, I seemed to have forgotten everything!

The full view of the don-t know-what area

The cannon

I thought he was striking some show-muscle pose from the corner of my eye so I followed suit so it turned out....extraordinary.

Some police (?) riding on horses randomly across. Actually I am not too sure if they really are police or they're part of the exhibition :x

& that's it for the town area. Headed towards my mummy's friend's village and that's when the fun started! It was a very very very long and bumpy car ride into the rural area and it was very deep inside the village. and finally we arrived!

Village/kampong/rural are very telling words. The first image that came to my mind was a rundown area with a hut in the middle, surrounded by vegetation that's poorly maintained.

but... take that!

are your jaws dropping like how mine dropped! that's not all lor. It was very well furnished with aircon in the living room and in all 5 rooms with a plasma TV and modern furniture :x The only kampong-alike factor would be the whizzing mosquitoes that the world would be better off without their presence. Luckily I am well equipped with the repellent and mopiko that ZS got for me hoho (:

Then we went to the rubber plantation owned by my mummy's friend's mummy.

& the plantation. Couldn't venture deeper cause it's getting dark and the mosquitoes were asking for a beating.

Then we went for dinner and had a durian session @ night! The durian crave crept into my secretly and this session came just at the right time heheh and the worker taught us the way to get rid of the durian smell on our hands

& that is using water that runs off the durian shell. DON'T KNOW WHY EITHER! It's said to be yi du gong du (using poison to treat the poison) and I was totally amazed! Only to find myself feeling so cheated because the smell came back 10 minutes later! =( But it's still amazing and even google doesn't provide a scientific answer to this. If you want to get rid of the durian smell in your mouth, it's not just enough to drink salt water. The water must run off the durian shell too! Not sure how accurate that is so just fyi!

The digested durian in our tummy now

went back to the kampong @ midnight, bathed, chatted and that's the end of day one.

Woke up early in the morning and went for some bakuteh that's known to be famous.

Jia Jia bah kuteh!
Food that attracts houseflies taste the best, seriously! hahaha. We were busy fanning away those flies to prevent them from kissing our food.

Then went back to the kampong and 'harvested' rambutans and coconuts, fresh from the trees!

mummy's friend's hubby laying his hands on the coconuts

the aunties making the first attack on the coconuts

& huang yi says good! cooling water and chewy flesh, don't drool! (:

after raping the coconuts

Then we lay our hands on the rambutans!

Random:

After a fruity session, everyone got changed and prepared themselves for the trip to the waterfall!

& arrived!

The lower course of the waterfall is very dirty and crowded so we went up up up and up to the upper course of the falls and I swear it's not easy at all! The steps were rocky, pointy, jagged and steep. and that's alot of steps and kids to take care of.

The lower course

middle course - we're still on our way up!

& the successful conquerors! we were panting so hard and perspiring so profusely that we had to cool for a looong looooong time.

& finally, we land our feet on the sandy ground and chilly water!

the aunties

can you spot us? (: I am rather prominent hahahhaa

this is a better test. Can you even see us? (:

& here we are! enjoying the water gushing down on our backs (:(: But we got to make our way down soon after we adapted to the water cause the elderly are at the lower course of the falls waiting for us.

Walked the same terrorising steps down, dried ourselves and went back to the kampong. The rest of the day was spent bathing, packing, eating and back we are in singapore, and thanks to the crazy jam, I only reached home @ 12+ AM!

So overall it was not bad...cause my mummy's friends and their families are entertaining and there's lots of outdoor rural activities to explore. I would seriously die there if I'm thrown there alone to leave, I'll probably suffocate from cobwebs in my lungs but such an experience once in a while does feels fresh!

And then today is ZS's first day after his block leave. His new vocation was made known to him on Friday, 10am so the usual kiasu me keyed in all the necessary particulars and standby by the "submit" button and pressed my mouse the moment th clock strikes 10. But urg, the whole Singapore is as kiasu as me and I experienced a severe lag!

Anyway, he's posted to Sispec and the camp is located at Pasir laba and it's waaaaay over at boon lay! It's just a word different from Pasir ris and it's all the way to the other end of the green line. and he just told me he was posted to Foxtrot Company and I did a quick research and i was greeted by an unfriendly line that says "Foxtrot is the legendary hiong company". But more research then revealed more hiong companies la. Every company will insist that their company is hiong, but 'legendary' sound really intimidating. He had his 4km run on his first day, 4km run every morning, soc tomorrow, IPPT on wed and remedial on Sat if he fails. urg.

Anyway I came across some funny abbreviations as I went through the forums like

Sispec- Suffer In Silence Plus Extra Confinement
OCS- Only Clowns Stay
OETI - Only eat talk idle/ Officially Entitled to Idle

No offence! Just find it cute. Updating previous entries soon, bye!
